The use of K-Grip is easy; nevertheless a few points must be considered!
Although K-Grip is extremely hard, the suitability of the base material must be considered before the work can begin. The adhesion of K-Grip is reliant on the strength of the material it is applied to. In extreme situations, the cured K-Grip can be forced off, taking an amount of the base material with it. This particularly applies to materials that are prone to dusting, delaminating, etc.

Cut a 1/8" deep x 3/16" wide groove, or simply score the center of the area for the proposed K-Grip profile.

Roughen the surface, each side of the groove, to the width of the proposed K-Grip profile with sandpaper (silicone carbide).

Clean all dust etc. from the area and clean with K-Cleaner (recommended) or an alcohol-based cleaner. After cleaning the surface, wait at least 15 minutes to let the K-Cleaner dry.

The surface must be dry, clean, and free of grease and dust. Although the K-Grip has excellent adhesive properties, dust and moisture may affect this.

Remove the white paper backing from the K-Grip tape and apply a strip either side of the groove to the width of the required profile.

To prevent K-Grip from getting on other unwanted areas, masking tape can be applied to either side of the K-Grip tape. If some K-Grip spills over on to the base material, remove with a clean cloth using the K-Cleaner (use caution on porous surfaces).

For the easiest application, it is best for the K-Grip cartridge to be at room temperature.

Un-screw and keep the white plastic retaining nut. Pull the silver washer off and dispose of it and the green plastic plug.

Place the static mixing nozzle onto the top of the cartridge and screw on the white plastic retaining nut to hold the nozzle in place.

Set the two-tube cartridge into the applicator (small tube first). Exert only low pressure! Never press firmly.

The first 2" (5cm) of K-Grip must be ejected from the mixing nozzle and discarded, as it may not be properly mixed. This is absolutely essential every time a new mixing nozzle and/or cartridge is used. (It is necessary to make certain that the 2 parts of K-Grip are evenly mixed or it will not set up properly!)
