INSTALLATION
**************************************************************************************************************
In exterior applications subject to snow and ice, either
stagger the recesses for the profiles when cutting the substrate or score
vertical or perpendicular weep holes across profiles to prevent water from
pooling and freezing behind profiles. Edit paragraphs below accordingly.
**************************************************************************************************************
A.
Cut grooved or recessed substrate in accordance with
manufacturer=s
instructions.
**************************************************************************************************************
Delete following paragraph if not applicable to project or if
scoring vertical or perpendicular weep holes across profiles (as indicated in
Paragraph J below) to prevent water from pooling and freezing behind profiles
in exterior applications subject to snow and ice.
**************************************************************************************************************
B.
[Stagger profile recesses to prevent water from pooling and
freezing behind profiles in exterior applications subject to snow and ice.]
C.
Roughen recessed substrate and substrate surface on each side
of recessed substrate to width of profile in accordance with manufacturer=s instructions.
D.
Clean substrate with K-Cleaner in accordance with manufacturer=s instructions.
E.
Verify that substrate is clean, dry, sound, and free of loose
particles, grease, dust, and other substances which could affect bond of
profile.
F.
Apply K-Tape to establish perimeter of required profile.
G.
Apply masking tape at outer edge of K-Tape to protect adjacent
substrate.
H.
Apply profile material in accordance with manufacturer=s instructions.
I.
Smooth profile material into recessed substrate and between
K-Tape edges with leveling square.
Immediately remove excess profile material that may have spilled outside
taped perimeter and clean area with K-Cleaner.

[Score vertical or perpendicular weep holes across profiles to
prevent water from pooling and freezing behind profiles in exterior
applications subject to snow and ice.
Space weep holes 12 inches on center minimum, not to exceed 36 inches on
center.]
K.
Remove K-Tape and masking tape immediately by pulling upwards
and away from profile.
L.
Cure profile in accordance with profile manufacturer=s instructions.
1.
Direct heat from 2000 watt heat gun toward profile for 10
minutes for each 3.5 lineal feet.
